Reny George is a 48-year-old woman from Alappuzha, Kerala, diagnosed with a heart condition that needs immediate treatment. Her heart valves need to be replaced, which requires an open heart surgery. She’s married and they had 1 child who died at 5 month of age due to congenital heart disease. Her Husband was a coolie worker, currently not working due to his health issues(spinal problems). Her family is facing severe financial constraints now and lives with the support of relatives.
They have only 2 cents of land and a small house. The surgery is going cost them approx $7000 USD but they do not have any means to come up with that much of money. Her relatives managed to arrange about $2000 so far and Reny is willing to let go her jewelry which will bring another $750. However they still need to come up with another $4000+. Her health is deteriorating due to the heart condition and her Doctors are recommending an immediate surgery.
